The Hard Rock Hotel

On a recent trip to the city of my birth, Chicago, IL, I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is housed in the old Carbon & Carbide Building. Built in 1929, the C&C is an art deco masterpiece. Clad in black, green and gold, legend has it that it was inspired by a champagne bottle and, from a distance, one can certainly see how this could have been true.

If you are a fan of art deco architecture, be sure to check it out if you’re ever in the Windy City.
